Ykids seeks to become a more self-sustaining charity.

We do this through Social Enterprise and teach entrepreneurial skills.

"Simply boss! One of a kind-shop,  just what Bootle needs, life and culture!" - Local Person

What We Do:

Our current enterprise projects are:

Kingsley and Co

Kingsley and Co is foremost a literacy project to encourage reading and imagination through an immersive Victorian Explorer's bookshop. However, our hope is that Kingsley and Co becomes self-sustaining and is able to financially support Ykids as a Charity.

Kingsley and Co Etsy Shop

We have created unique and exciting products in our Explorer's Emporium, Kingsley and Co. They will soon be available to buy on Etsy.

Previous Endeavours:

North Perk café 2012-2020

The café had been an important part of many people’s lives with many young people gaining valuable training and experience. It has been a place for many to meet their friends and become part of the North Perk family. Since it’s opening in 2012 we trained over 68 young people, giving them invaluable skills, confidence and self-belief, enabling them to go on to further employment in many different sectors such as; hospitality, armed forces and administration.

Tanya, who started with Ykids at the age of 9, was our Cafe Manager at the time of closing.  North Perk is where Tanya met her husband Shaun, their baby Theo arrived in 2020 and Tanya is not studying Environmental Health at Liverpool John Moores University
